Yeah, I'm not sure I believe it all either - but here goes ::deep
breath::

• Ellen Kushner & Delia Sherman Annual Holiday "Family"# Reading
Tuesday, December 6th
Doors open 6:30 PM

The SoHo Gallery for Digital Art

#Because we're family, not because that's code for "a kid-friendly
event." Though Delia will be reading from her new teen novel, THE
FREEDOM MAZE . . . but I will read my somewhat racy Holiday story,
"'Dulce Domum'" (from ECLIPSE 3, ed. Jonathan Strahan), which, though
it does feature bits of THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS, also has bits not
meant for "under 16." (And, yes, I know we need a new photo!)

• My new audiobook is out!

SWORDSPOINT: A MELODRAMA OF MANNERS
produced by SueMedia++ for ACX/Neil Gaiman Presents

I am the narrator. But, as Neil Gaiman says in his introduction:
'What really makes this production unique is the supporting cast in
this special "illuminated production". Several key scenes are fully
dramatized, and throughout the entire book's soundscapes you will hear
the cadences of the marketplace, the music of the drawing rooms, and
of course the ring of steel drawn from the scabbard.....You'll be able
to hear performances from acclaimed and award-winning actors,
including Dion Graham, Katherine Kellgren, Robert Fass, Nick Sullivan,
and the remarkable Simon Jones.' To mark the 25th anniversary of the
book's publication, Ellen teamed up with Sue Zizza of SueMedia
Productions, known for her signature touches of soundscapes and sound
effects, multi-voiced dramatizations, and all the techniques of
"illuminated production". Together they have made Swordspoint a brand-
new audio experience, in which the full supporting cast dramatizes and
illuminates key scenes from Ellen's compelling narration.

It's available through iTunes, & Audible.com:

and Neil Gaiman has written about it and his new audiobook line here:

++SueMedia also produced "The Witches of Lublin" this spring - and it,
too, is now available on Audible.com:

• If you're not familiar with SWORDSPOINT, a good place to start is my
short story "The Swordsman Whose Name was Not Death," which was just
reprinted online - also this week - at:
http://www.fantasy-magazine.com/new/new-fiction/the-swordsman-whose-name-was-not-death/

. . . paired with an in-depth interview about the Riverside setting
and its characters:

• Finally, you may know the work of my very dear friend, editor,
artist and author Terri Windling. I've been helping members of her
community to launch an auction to raise money for her, as she and her
family have been hit by a series of crises. It's running through
December 15th - and I invite you to go take a look at what is a truly
amazing online phenomenon - and get some of your shopping done, too! :

Hope you're having just as happy - but maybe more peaceful? - a week
