MS Office ? Which version ? Which keymaps giving boxes?
With Word 2007 and other MS Office apps, and using Tamil99 of
eKalappai-3.0 (as in test version in Thamizha site) - one has to
disable Tamil from "editing languages" for another issue (not boxes).
Can do the following way:
1. In menu All Programs -> Microsoft Office --> Microsoft Office tools
--> Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings to open dialog box
(Another way to reach the Language Settings dialog box is on MS Office
icon on top left corner of Word or Excel or ... click "Word Options"
or "Excel Options" .. and then click "Language Settings" - the
settings dialog is common for all Office)
2. In the Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings dialog box under the
cage for "Enabled editing languages" if Tamil is listed then select it
and click remove button so that Tamil is not enabled.
About the issue:
If Tamil is enabled tamil99 keymap sequences for உடனிலை mei mayakkams
(க+க = க்க etc) are upset because MS ppl have included their own
support for it. Anyway their own supports are also inadequate since
ஒத்திசைவு mei-makyakkms (ங+க = ங்க) are not included. Also their
உடனிலை mei mayakkam support not comprehensive when I tested many
months back.
I will write again later after testing Phonetic and other keymaps
(other than Tamil99) also get affected when "editing languages" is
enabled for Tamil.
