EJUG is meeting from 12 noon to 1pm on Friday, March 15th in the Western boardroom in the basement of the Canadian Western Bank building, located at 10303 Jasper Ave. 

Topic: Spring Data and NoSQL Introduction

The purpose of this presentation is to introduce Spring Data project (http://www.springsource.org/spring-data )and NoSQL database (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NoSQL). We will talk about traditional J2EE Data Access patterns, then introduce Domain Driven Design with Repository pattern. With Spring Data project, we can significantly simplify the implementation of data access layers without boilerplate code. If time allows we will introduce NoSQL databases.

Presenter: Yuan Ji, Independent IT Consultant (http://www.jiwhiz.com). Yuan is a passionate Java programmer and open source evangelist. He has more than 12 years experience of enterprise business application development and worked at several small startups as well as government and big organizations. During his spare time, he loves playing with modern Web and Mobile application development tools, frameworks. He is also a Toastmaster for 5 years at TM4PM Toastmaster Club (http://1022113.toastmastersclubs.org )

It's not called "J2EE" anymore ;) That is soooooo Java5.

JEE is the official designation for JEE6 onwards.
