Hello,
Thanks for the add. I looked through all the questions that are here and didn't find anything relevant to my case. So hopefully this can help others who are having similar issues.
So after installing OpENer on my PC with Ubuntu 18.04, I tried to invoke it as instructed. Contrary to my expectations, the program would just sit there and hang.
I have ping'd my EIP device and it responds just fine.
I have tried to put in a wrong/non-existent network interface name and the program would return with the appropriate message.
I have tried to run it with valgrind and I'm not getting anything.
My question is, how can I troubleshoot a behavior such as this? Or even better, does anybody know how to fix this issue? Thanks!

Hi,

can you explain what you mean with hang? OpENer per default is just waiting that some EIP scanner is connecting to it. OpENer is not a scanner that connects to
other EIP devices by itself. It also has no GUI or much output.

Cheers,
Alois

Hi,

as Alois said, that's the the default behavior. It's a server stack and therefore waits for requests. If you want output what is happening you have to active the traces in the CMake config

Best regards,
Martin
