Starting next week I will produce a weekly newsletter on software engineering topics. Unsurprisingly, Eiffel will figure prominently.

To subscribe to the newsletter it suffices to go to https://bertrandmeyer.com/ and fill in your email address in the popup that comes up at the bottom right.

A list canary, so to say. I had been wondering whether the list is still alive 😉

Eiffel is so perfect that nobody feels the need to ask questions :-)
Or they ask their questions to ChatGPT...

I set things up for the newsletter on the site some time ago, so the signup popup started to appear, but was only intent on actually starting in November (now). I needed to make some publicity anyway first to have subscribers. Usual chicken and eggs.

Perhaps this groups is so quiet because Eiffel does not have the inane problems common in other languages that keep other groups busy.

If you look at the posts, often they are on deeper more philosophical issues in computing.

Hello,

In order to keep this list alive, let me point out this new book,
"Applying Requirements and Business Analysis" by Jean-Michel Bruel,
Sophie Ebersold and Mariya Naumcheva:

https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-92160-5

It's a companion of Bertrand's "Handbook of Requirements and
Business Analysis":

https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-06739-6

which uses Eiffel and DbC in its 3rd chapter "Object-Oriented
Requirements".
