Dea Eiffelers,

Could anybody please tell me if there are any Bluetooth API's I can use
with Eiffel or/and how to use the standard Windows ones within Eiffel. ie,
how I would do a simple include of an Windows API and then reference,
bearing in mind I have never used an Windows API before.

Thanks,

Shane

Looks like there is a bug in the way Borland treats the Makefile we generate. The
funny thing is that relaunching the C compilation cures the problem.

Hi Manu,

I just went into W_code and ran the BCC make command - same result. Is
that what you were suggesting? I notice a separate ilink.exe - do I need
to use this?

Did you try again? Does it give you the same output that you originally sent?

Thanks,

Shane,

There is no Eiffel library I know of that permits the use of BlueTooth.
However, if you are using a Microsoft VC++ compiler, you wrap the functions
in the PlatformSDK. I played around with it a while back, but I no longer
have the code I wrote. Sorry.

You should check out the documentation on wrapping C/C++ externals. Also if
you look at WEL you'll see the API calls made from Eiffel code.

Paul.

yep - the ES build failed, and we ran the make from the command line in
W_code multiple times - same errors as I posted just before.

Manu (or anyone),
is there an answer to this problem? I have to know whether to put a
warning that only the VC++ mode will work on Windows for downloaders of
openEHR.

thanks,

Has there been any resolution for this report? Tahoo search got me
to here, and then nothing more could I find.

I am currently experiencing the same problem. Its only an annoyance,
since if you exit and re-compile from the Ace file, everything works
just fine. As somebody else said, it seems only to happen if you add
a new agent. I have begun to add all agents at the same time (in
dummy form) to a new class so the failure only happens once.

I downloaded the 5.6 version about a month ago, and have made
considerable progress. It seems to be a terrific product. The
debugger is exceptional -- and I need it!

C background, no C++ or any other OO language to speak of. Did read
the Eiffel book a few years ago. All by myself here. Thanks anyone.

At the moment, there is no workaround for this problem with Borland. Now that
Microsoft is also giving its C compiler for free, you can try to use it. You can
find some instructions at
http://eiffelsoftware.origo.ethz.ch/index.php/Windows_32-bit_C_compiler.
