Software Test Engineer
Global Technical Centre India (GTCI) Bangalore.
The Job:
As application software engineer you will develop LabVIEW based applications for demonstrators and test benches in addition to firmware development. Following would be the main responsibilities:
• Development of software for given set of requirements/design
• Maintain LabVIEW applications for Test benches and demonstrators
• Product testing (System / Functional) of electronic units according to standards
• Support firmware development
• Log and analyze defects according to company procedures.
• Reproducing and diagnosing reported defects
• Follow SKF Company procedures and code of conduct
Requirements:
Educational background - Master or bachelor degree in Electronics or Computer Science
Professional experience & Skills
1. Around 3 years of hands on experience in LabVIEW based software development (GUI,Application) and testing.
2. Proven experience in interfacing sensors and devices.
3. Experience in creating test plans and performing system/field testing would be an advantage
4. Experience in firmware development is highly desirable.
5. Experience in directly dealing with customers is very much needed
6. Experience in communication protocols like CAN.LIN, MODBUS or Wireless protocols is a definite plus
7. Experience in using tools like CANoe, CANalyzer etc.
8. Knowledge of Python/Perl scripting will be an advantage
9. Able to work in a team, but with minimal direct supervision
10. Exposure to Mechatronics field is a definite plus
Personality
• Customer focus and result oriented. Needs determination to achieve
• Willingness to travel and to work abroad on short assignments
• Good ability in written and spoken English
• Good communication skills
• Excellent team-player.
The position holder will report to Team Leader at GTCI
