I have an eid-card-reader (Vasco DP905 00 00) which works well with the eid-viewer and eID Middleware on a Xubuntu-laptop. However when i try to install these items on a pc where the eid-card-reader is connected to an usb-hub, the eid-viewer can't detect the reader. The standard ubuntu-tool beidgui is able to read the eid-card.

pcsc-scan detects the eid-card. If I install eid-viewer and the eid-middleware, then  due to conflict in the packages, beidgui gets uninstalled. What is worse however,
that the daemon is making the other devices on the usb-hub corrupt after some time.

lsusb -t

/: Bus 01.Port 1: Dev 1, Class=root_hub, Driver=uhci_hcd/2p, 12M

  |__ Port 2: Dev 3, If 0, Class=hub, Driver=hub/4p, 12M

    |__ Port 4: Dev 4, If 0, Class=vend., Driver=r8712u, 12M

    |__ Port 3: Dev 6, If 0, Class=scard, Driver=usbfs, 12M

The Eid-reader is on port 3 and the wifi-interface is on port 4 (both are connected to the same usb-hub). After some time

the wifi-interface gets disabled. The Eid-viewer is however never able to detect the card-reader. I looks as if this software

can't interface devices which reside on an usb-hub. How can I diagnose this?

Please, discard this post. Everything is working fine after removing the beid-packages in synaptic.
