Hi Bernard,

That is configuration at the level of the OS, not the eID software, so you should indeed report a bug with Linux Mint.

I did a clean install of LM21-Cinnamon. Eid-software downloaded and installed. To my amazement my card-reader wasn't recognized. Then I manually enabled and started the pcscd-services. After that the reader was recognized by the viewer and by means of the browser (Firefox) I could log in into the Belgian Government-services.

Is this a problem related to the EID-software or should I file bug for Linux Mint?

Actually, on second thought,

Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu, and at the level of the pc/sc daemon is unmodified. So the problem is with Ubuntu, not with Linux Mint.

A relevant bug report has already been filed:
