I'm installing a new mac mini based on High Sierra.

After installing the middleware, I got a popup screen with BEIDtoken and a button "Register". But this doesn't seem to do anything.

I can open my eid card with eidviewer.

But test.eid.belgium.be is not working in Chrome, Safari or Firefox.

Are you aware of any known issues?

Regards

Ivan

Google chrome still has issues with eID and macOS high Sierre, google is looking into this.
see also https://github.com/Fedict/eid-mw/issues/55

We are not aware of any issues with Safari at the moment.

For Firefox, you probably need the latest eID software installer and manually add the pkcs11 library, as described in https://eid.belgium.be/en/log#7503

BEIDtoken does its work behind the scenes, so its normal you don't see anything after pressing the Register button.
It is the container app for our BEIDToken service (apple requires a container app so services are no longer installed silently as a part of an installer)

For Safari:
You can check with Applications/Utilties/System Information -> software/Smartcards if the BEIDToken is installed as a smart card driver.
When you enter your eid card and refresh the system information (command R), you should also see your certificates showing up there.

If you certificates are not showing up there, can you check if they are present in Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access?
In that case, macOS 10.13 would have picked up our old tokend, which would no longer be supported by the OS.
Our old BEID.tokend used to be present at /Library/Security/tokend/BEID.tokend ;should you find it there, please remove it and try to authenticate with safari once more

Wkr,
 Frederik

This was indeed the trick to have eid working with Firefox.

But I'm still having trouble with Chrome and Safari. The smartcard is shown in System Information.

Regarding Safari:

Can you check if any identity preferences are set for safari?

When the card is present in the card reader, are the certificates also shown in System Information?

How far do you get with safari?
Do you get to select your authentication certificate? enter your PIN?

But best is to contact our service desk via https://eid.belgium.be/en/contact
