Installation eid-viewer fails on LinuxMint 19-Beta due to libcurl3-depencies

I tried to install the latest eid-software on a Linux Mint-machine using the latest LM19-beta. The installation of the middle-ware went fine, but the installation of the viewer
fails due to library-depencies. The viewer requires libcurl3 while the library libcurl4 is default installed.

After sudo apt-get install libcurl3 and sudo apt-get install eid-viewer the viewer gets installed and is working fine, but the more recent library libcurl4 has been removed.

Will the next eid-viewer be built against libcurl4?

Best Regards

It looks like this is a problem related to Linux Mint 19. On Ubuntu 18.04 the library curl4 is being used. I will investigate this further.

Well It looks that in case of LM19.1 which is based on Ubuntu18.4 an old version of the eid-viewer is being installed.

In case of Ubuntu18.4 the version 4.4.2v4.4.2-0u1804 is installed
while for LM19.1 an incompatible version 4.4.2v4.4.2-0u1604 is installed.

Please fix this issue.

This is because Linux Mint has not been released yet. We do not support distributions that are still in development. As soon as Linux Mint 19 is released, we will update the repositories so that a repository for Linux Mint 19 is added.

However, as all the parts of Linux Mint that are relevant for the eID middleware and viewer are 100% unchanged from Ubuntu, all that would accomplish is "make a copy of the Ubuntu repository for Linux Mint". As such, you can also just update your /etc/apt/sources.list.d/eid.list to point to the ubuntu 18.04 repositories.

LM19 has been released nearly a month ago, but the .deb-file is still not compatible with LM19. Please fix.

Sorry, we had indeed missed that. Should be fixed now.
