Is eid-viewer ready for GTK 4 ?

Hi all,

I tried to compile last eid-mw against GTK 4. When compiling eid-viewer, I get a lot of warnings and it ends in error.

And so my question : is eid-mw (eid-viewer) ready for GTK 4 ?

Some preliminary work has been done to support GTK4 (and this is the reason that the configure script accepts 4 as a value for the GTK version number), but it does not yet work.

The main problem is the removal of gtk_main and the subsequent requirement of the use of GtkApplication, which requires some refactoring that has not yet been finished. As I suspect that GTK3 is going to be with us for some time to come, this has not been given much priority, but it is something that is on our low-priority todo list.

If you have the skills and feel like supplying patchs, we do take them (as you know). Otherwise, we'll eventually get around to it.

But for now the answer is, no, GTK4 is not yet supported.
