ASP.NET - examples

Hello,

Since I'm fairly new to using eID in a development environment, I
wanted to ask if there are any examples available using the ASP.NET
appletservice ?

I've compiled the AppletService and I've got the AppletService.dll.
But I don't really get how I can invoke the retrieving process of the
eID information in ASP.NET. I've looked at the JSP examples but they
all rely on the Java Applet & as I've read here it's either the Java
Applet or either the ASP.NET AppletService...

Since my company is all ASP.NET based for web applications I'd really
like to get started using the eID for webapps.

e.g. Is it required that the eID middleware is installed on the IIS
webserver running the .NET framework ?

Hi Kevin,


Information on how to use the ASP.NET eID Applet Service can be found at:
http://code.google.com/p/eid-applet/source/browse/trunk/eid-applet-aspx/README.txt
and also in previous posts on this mailing list.

It is not required to install the eID Middleware for using the eID Applet and eID Applet Service.

Thanks for the quick reply Frank.

I've read through all the possible discussions & the README but the
thing I get stuck at is the creation of my first aspx page that uses
the applet... Do I just create a page 'login.aspx' which contains for
example <%= Session["Identity.Name"] %> and will that invoke the
applet which will ask to insert the eID card ?

I've tried to use the jsp examples as a lead but those work with the
java applet where you have to define parameters like the target page
etc... Since I'm still in the learning fase of ASP.NET aswell I just
can't seem to create my startpage...

That would be some too easy, no? :)
Of course you need an aspx page (just like for jsp) that first loads the eID Applet before being able to use the session attributes provided by the eID Applet Service.
Just look at the first page of the jsp examples to see how to load the eID Applet from within a web page.

So I still have to load the Java Applet as well in my aspx page if I'm
understanding correctly ? Or am I that confused right now...

Okay, nevermind my previous post. I got it working !

Using IIS 7 you have to make sure your web application doesn't run in
classic mode (classic .NET application pool). Make sure it's using
integrated mode.
