Hi

The new Belfius cardreader combines the use of creditcard-verification and eid-scanner.
However I know some people which are having troubles signing in with this device.

I already reported it on the Google Code project: https://code.google.com/p/eid-applet/issues/detail?id=98
It reports the pin is incorrect, however on some sites (which, I think, don't use Java) it works correctly.

Anyone else havind issues?

Kind regards
Jorim

Hi Jorim,

These recent Vasco smart card readers implement the new (Vasco) Pseudo-APDU standard. Specifications available at:
    http://www.pcscworkgroup.com/specifications/files/pcsc10_v2.02.01_sup.pdf
Hence this type of smart card reader moves the burden of supporting the readers towards the software vendors, instead of -as common- the smart card manufacturer by means of providing proper working Windows drivers.
I've already been in contact with Vasco concerning this issue. No development track has been planned to add support for this type of smart card reader within the eID Applet. So for the moment I suggest that you simply use another smart card reader.

It works on sites that use the eID Middleware instead of the eID Applet since Vasco apparently managed to push the PPDU support at FedICT within the eID Middleware. See also:

Kind Regards,
Frank.
