Should I be certified?
- Mar 1, 2009
Professional Certification
As a first step, we need appropriately qualified ecologists to become certified so we can establish the reputation of CEnvP. Please, if you believe you qualify (see the article "Should I be Certified" above), do apply at
http://www.cenvp.org for the next round. If you do not yet have the relevant number of years experience, then please consider joining EIANZ and becoming actively involved in understanding the principles under which practitioners work. Over time, there is a real scope to improve the profession if we take our own initiative to regulate standards.
Ecological Impact Assessment GuidelinesOur colleagues in New Zealand have begun the process of considering EcIA Guidelines. In the coming weeks we hope to bring you more and there will be the chance for comment at some stage, when there is a document prepared. Note, we will also be running a workshop in August at the INTECOL Conference in Brisbane.
"Breaking the Barriers" Symposium on Linear InfrastructureEIANZ SEQ is running a 3-day symposium - a must for any environmental consultant and ecologist who works on linear developments such as roads, railways and pipelines. See the link to postings below for more detail.
A symposium brochure can be downloaded here.
