Om Sri Sai Ram.
On 14th April 2007 we will see the start of the Tamil New Year “Sarva Jith”. While our brothers and sisters in Kerala will also join our celebrations on that day for their “Vishuk Kani”, those from Andhra already celebrated the Yugadhi a couple of weeks back.
Bhagawan has said that the new year “Sarva Jith” will bring victory to all. And that inspires us to perform another seva to our fellow brothers, who are not as fortunate as we are. What better way there could be to celebrate the new year than to be part of a little service to the society. May this New Year brings along lots of joy, peace, happiness, bliss and success to all of us.
A) We plan to provide dry ration items to the needy people in the labour camps. Items of rice, wheat flour, dhal, sugar, milk powder, tea, oil etc., Those of you willing to provide any quantity of any of the above items, may please deliver the same at our “Sai Illam” at Al Nasr area on or before 15th April 2007.
B)
The proverb in Tamil in the above picture ( may be as attachment to some ) means : “More sacred and million times better is the act of bringing education to a poor student; than providing 1000 free-meal centers or building 16000 temples of worship”.
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has provided us an opportunity in this respect. There is an orphanage and old age home near Madras, called “Newlife Charity Trust”, to which we have been providing in the past some support from our group – like old/new clothes distribution, supply of medicines, provision of a shed etc., It is located in Eraiyur Village, Sri Perumpudur Taluk, one of the remote outskirts of the city in the middle of poverty ridden villages and is the home for about 60 orphaned children and about 50 old aged people. The trust has requested for support for ensuring education to these children.
Seeking the Divine Blessings of Swamy, we intend to provide school uniform, text books, stationery items, and school fees for the children – as many as possible - of the home/school. The amount is planned to be paid to the trust soon, well before the next academic session starts. Voluntary contributions for this are welcome. Devotees / parents are free to contribute whatever they can ; However please note it is purely voluntary. Those parents of bala vikas children, who are willing to contribute for this, may please hand over the same to the bala vikas center. Devotees attending weekly bhajans / namasmaranam at Sai Illam may put the amount in the box kept for the purpose.
Jai Sai Ram
