JebaoBio-pressure filter is ideal for pond owners wanting simplicity, clear water and a filter system that can be easily hidden. Unit includes a 13 watt ultraviolet clarifier (UVC). Filter capacity 3000 gallons, pond size 3400 gallons or less. Ultraviolet water clarifier kills suspended algae with UV light. The water clarifier ensures 100% clarity. As water passes through the rays of an ultraviolet lamp located inside each unit, green water is eliminated by causing the algae to clump together to be removed by the pond filter. This Jebao CF-10 pressure filter comes with an intergrated 13 watt UVC, back wash facility, cleaning indicator and a UVC viewing window. If you have a nature pond with plants, this filter cleans up to 1500 gallon ponds. If you have a gold fish pond with some plants, this filter cleans up to 1000 gallon ponds. If you have a koi pond or large fish, this filter cleans up to 500 gallon pond.

Why is this external pond UV bio-filter so effective? Water is slowed down as it passes the lamp to increase UV penetration quartz glass tube covering the UV lamp permits effective penetration of UV rays. Ordinary glass cuts this by 90% UV lamp runs at optimum operating temperature in an enclosed chamber. Water is kept as close as possible to the UV lamp to maximize UV efficiency single ended lamps last longer and have higher UV output.

Biological Filtration: The biological stage of the filtration begins when water reaches the bottom of the filter. This stage uses bio-balls which provide a habitat for beneficial bacteria to grow. These bacteria naturally convert harmful ammonia and other wastes into healthy nitrates that fertilize aquatic plants and support a healthy pond environment.

UV Filtration: The final filtering stage uses a ultra-violet (UV) light located in the middle of the filter. Exposure to the light kills algae as the water passes upward through the filter on its way back to the pond.

Easy To Clean And Maintain

The CBF range of pressure filters are fitted with an easy to operate back flush system. It is also fitted with a pressure indicator that displays green while the filter is performing properly and red when it requires cleaning.

Jebao / Jecod pressure filter NPF-40 has 3 levels of filtration: mechanical, biological and UV sterilization. The filter has a 24W UV-C lamp, 2 multigrade foams and bio-balls. The pressure filter is suitable for 20000 liter pond.

Stage 1. Mechanical filtration. Water is pumped through the filter, creating the pressure needed to start the mechanical filtration. Two foam trays collect unwanted organic debris of varying sizes, supporting the growth of a host of beneficial bacteria that break down harmful contaminants.

Stage 2. Biological filtration. In this stage, the water passes through a biosphere located at the bottom of the filter. Their large surface area provides a habitat for the growth of beneficial bacteria that naturally convert harmful ammonia and nitrite toxins into useful nitrates to support a healthy pond environment.

Stage 3. UV clarification. The water, which may contain microscopic algae spores in suspension, passes through the UV lamp which clumps and kills the spores resulting in crystal clear water.

After 8 000 hours (12 months), the lamps begin to lose efficiency or fail. This is noticeable in the summer, as the pond water can take on the dreaded cloudy green color on hot days. Correct procedure should be followed when installing the UV lamp. To prevent damage to the quartz sleeve, if you have any difficulty during installation, contact us for assistance.

Filter foam maintenance. The UV-C filter/unit must be run dirty to preserve bacteria. If the foams are blocked, remove them and wash them only in a bucket of non-chlorinated water (e.g. pond water). Foams will often shrink. The unit still works, but you can restore the original size by carefully steaming the foam over boiling water.
