Abu Hanifa and a disbeliever

ANSWER to an enemy of religion :
There was once a man who was an enemy to Islam. He had three famous questions that no person could answer. No Islamic scholar in Baghdad could answer his three questions…thus he made fun of Islam in public. He constantly ridiculed Islam and the Muslims. One day a small boy, who`s age was 10, came along and heard the man yelling and screaming at Muslims in the street. He was challenging people openly to answer the three questions.
جارێکیان کابرایەک کە دوژمنی ئیسلام دەبێت، سێ پرسیاری گرنگ و بەناوبانگی دەبێت کە هیچ کەسێک لە توانایدا نیە وەڵامیان بداتەوە. هیچ مەلایەکی ئاینی شاری بەغداد نەیتوانی وەڵامی سێ پرسیارەکەی بداتەوە ... هەر لەبەر ئەوە پێکەنینی بە ئیسلام دەهات و گاڵتەی پێدەکرد بە ئاشکرا. هەمیشە گاڵتەی بە ئیسلام و بە موسوڵمانان دەکرد. ڕۆژێکیان کوڕێکی بچکۆلە کە تەمەنی ١٠ ساڵان بوو هات و گوێی لە کابرا بوو کە هاواری دەکرد و دەینەڕاند بەسەر موسوڵماناندا لەسەر شەقامەکە، وە کابرا بە ئاشکرا ڕوبەڕووی خەڵکەکە دەبوەوە تا وەڵامی سێ پرسیارەکەی بدەنەوە.

The boy stood quietly and watched. He then decided that he would challenge the man. He walked up and told the man, “I will accept your challenge”.
کوڕەکە بە ئارامی وەستا و تەماشای دەکرد. دواتر کوڕەکە بڕیاریدا کە ڕوبەڕوی کابرا ببێتەوە. وە دواتر چوا لای کابرا و وتی، ''من ڕوبەڕوبوونەوەیەکت قبوڵ دەکەم.''ـ

The man laughed at the boy and ridiculed the Muslims even more by saying, “A ten year old boy challenges me. Is this all you people have to offer!”
کابرایش بە کوڕەکە پێکەنی و زیاتر گاڵتەی بە موسوڵمانانکرد بەوەی کە وتی، ''کوڕێکی تەمەن ١٠ ساڵان ڕوبەڕووی من دەبێتەوە. ئایا ئا ئەمە هەموو ئەوەیە کە ئێوە هەتانە؟!''ـ

But the boy patiently reiterated his stance. He would challenge the man, and with Allah`s help and guidance, he would put this to an end. The man finally accepted.
بەڵام کورەکە بە هێمنی چەندبارەی کردەوە کە ئەو ڕوبەڕووی دەبێتەوە، وە بە یارمەتی خودا و ڕێنوێنی خودا کۆتایی بەمە دەهێنێت. وە کابرایش لە کۆتاییدا ڕازی بوو.

The entire city gathered around a small “hill” where open addresses were usually made. The man climbed to the top, and in a loud voice asked his first question.
تەواوی شار لە دەوری گردێکی بچکۆلە کۆبونەوە. کابرایش چوە سەر لوتکەی گردەکە و بە دەنگێکی بەرز پرسیاری یەکەمی کرد.

“What is your God doing right now?”
''ئایا ئێستا خوداکەی تۆ چی دەکات؟''

The small boy thought for a little while and then told the man to climb down the hill and to allow him to go up in order to address the question.
کوڕە بچکۆلەکە نەختێک بیری کردەوە و دواتر بە کابراکەی وت تا لە لوتکەی گردەکە دابەزێت و ڕێگە بە ئەو بدات تا بچێتە سەر گردەکە و وەڵامی پرسیارەکەی بداتەوە.

The man says “What? You want me to come down?”
کابرا وتی '' چی؟ تۆ دەتەوێ من بێمە خوارەوە؟''ـ

The boy says, “Yes. I need to reply, right?”
کوڕەکەیش وتی. ''بەڵێ. دەمەوێت وەڵامت بدەمەوە، باشە؟''ـ

The man made his way down and the small boy, age 10, with his little feet made his way up.
کابرایش دابەزی و کوڕە تەمەن ١٠ ساڵەکەیش بە قاچە بچکۆلەکانی چوە سەر گردەکە

This small child`s reply was “Oh Allah Almighty! You be my witness in front of all these people. You have just willed that a Kafir be brought down to a low level, and that a Muslim be brought to a high level!”
وەڵامی کوڕە بچکۆلەکە ئەمە بوو '' ئەی خودای گەورە و باڵادەست! تۆ گەواهیدەری منیت لەبەردەم ئەم هەموو خەڵکەدا. تۆ وات دەخواست کە کافرێک بچێتە خوارەوە (ئاستی خوارەوە) و موسوڵمانێک بێتە سەرەوە (ئاستی سەروو)ـ!''ـ

The crowd cheered and screamed “Takbir”….”Allah-hu-akbar!!!”
خەڵکەکە گەرم بوون و هاواریانکرد ''تەکبیر'' .... '' اللە اکبر!!!''ـ

The man was humiliated, but he boldly asked his Second question…
کابرا شەرمەزار بوو، بەڵام سوربوو لەسەر ئەوەی کە پرسیاری دووەم بکات...

“What existed before your God?”
چی لەپێش خوداکەی تۆوە بوونی هەبووە؟

The small child thought and thought.
کوڕە بچکۆلەکە بیری کردەوە

Then he asked the man to count backwards. “Count from 10 backwards.”
دواتر داوای لە کابرا کرد کە لە ژمارە ١٠ وە بەرەو خوارەوە بژمێریت

The man counted…”10, 9 ,8 , 7 , 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1,0″
کابرایش ژماردی... ''١٠، ٩ ، ٨، ٧، ٦، ٥، ٤، ٣، ٢، ١، ٠''ــ

The boy asked, “What comes before 0 ?”
کوڕەکەیش پرسی، '' چی لەپێش ژمارە ٠ دێت؟''ـ

The man: “I don`t know…nothing.”
کابرا وتی ''نازانم، هیچ نایەت.''ـ

The boy: “Exactly. Nothing was before Allah, for He is eternal and absolute.”
کوڕەکەیش وتی: '' زۆر تەواوە. هیچ شتێک نەبووە لەپێش خودا وە ئەو نەمر و بێ کەم و کوڕیە''ـ

The crowd cheered again….”Takbir!”….”Allah-hu-akbar!!!!”
خەڵکەکە گەرم بوون و هاواریانکردەوە دووبارە ''تەکبیر'' .... '' اللە اکبر!!!''ـ

The man, now completely frustrated, asked his final question.
کابرا زۆر بێ ورە و بێ هیوا بوو وە مەراقی بوو کە کۆتا پرسیاری بکات

“In which direction is your Allah facing?”
''خوداکەی تۆ ڕووی لە کوێوەیە؟ (لە کاملاوەیە)؟''

The boy thought and thought.
کوڕەکەیش بیری کردەوە

He then asked for a candle. A candle was brought to him. The blessed child handed it to the man and asked him to light it.
دواتر کوڕەکە داوای مۆمێکی کرد. مۆمەکەیان بۆ هێنا و کوڕەکەیش دای بە کابرا و داوای لێکرد کە دایگیرسێنێت.

The man did so and remarked, “What is this supposed to prove?”
کابرایش دایگیرساند و وتی، '' ئەمە چی ئەسەلمێنێ؟''ـ

The young boy asked, “In which direction is light from the candle going?”
کوڕەکەیش پرسیاری کرد، '' لە کام لاوە ڕووناکی مۆمەکە دەڕوات؟''ـ

The man responded, “It is going in all directions.”
کابرایش وتی، '' لە هەموو لایەکەوە.''ـ

The boy: “You have answered your own question. Allah`s light (noor) goes in all directions. He is everywhere. There is no where that He cannot be found.
کوڕەکەیش وتی ''تۆ خۆت وەڵامی پرسیارەکەی خۆتت دایەوە. نور و ڕوناکی خودا بە هەموو لایەکدا پەخش دەبێت. وە لە هەموو جێگایەکە. هیچ جێگایەک نیە کە ئەوی لێ نەبێت.''

“The crowd cheered again….”Takbir!”….”Allah-hu-akbar!!!”
خەڵکەکە گەرم بوون و هاواریانکردەوە دووبارە ''تەکبیر'' .... '' اللە اکبر!!!''ـ

The man was so impressed and so moved by the boy`s knowledge and spirituality, that he embraced Islam and became a student of the young boy.
کابرایش زۆر سەرسام بوو بە زانیاریەکانی کوڕەکە و هەر بۆیە هاتە باوەشی ئیسلامەوە و بوو بە خوێندکاری کوڕەکە

So ended the debate.

The young boy was one of our leaders and one of the greatest scholars, Imam Abu Hanîfa (May Allah bless him).
کوڕە گەنجەکە یەکێک بوو لە پێشەواکانی ئێمە، یەکێک لە گەورە توێژەران، ئیمامی ئەبو حەنیفە (ر.خ) بوو.
