Doraemonand its friends open a hole in the time and they're travel to the Country of Mayana, a lost Mayan civilization in the jungle. There, Nobita will know its perfect double, prince Thio, heir to the throne. Both will decide to interchange papers to try to save to the Country of Mayana of the claws of the infernal Ledina witch and her evil forces.

In this movie, Nobita switches lives with a prince from a Maya-esque civilization, who somehow looks just like him. This might have been the first Doraemon movie I ever watched. I remembered it as a good one, and I'd generally still agree with that assessment. That's not to say that one can't find holes in the narrative (why does Doraemon try attacking the villains' moving statues even after he's already realized they're illusions?), but I found it a well-crafted and enjoyable story overall.

Well, considering that we have to deal with translations we often need more than just the Babel template. The language combinations we can use for translation are often different to our language knowledge in general. Therefore I created some templates - of course they need completion and I would say it makes sense to add these templates as we need them, because otherwise, covering all languages, would simply become too much. To see how these "I am a translator fo the combination aaa-bbb" looks like, please have a loot at my user profile. Ciao! --Sabine 10:13, 1 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Have you seen "translation status" table? It is used in some past translation requests (example). I found it lovely and would like to use more widely. On the other hand, for my laziness and simplicity, it seems a bit complicated ... I propose therefore two modifications on its talk. Your input will be appreciated! --Aphaia 01:49, 14 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

The "Babelfish" is featured in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as a creature you stick in your ear, which then allows you to understand any language. And because everybody has one, everyone can understand each other.

As for recognition, we can remember a Chinese legend : a Chineseking walked around one day, and met an old man who tapped his own belly, satisfied with his food. The old man said to the king he had no interest at all in what the king did. The king was very pleased - he thought, had he governed the kingdom wrongly, the merry old man might have been concerned with his king and what he had done and would do. The better work, the less awareness - like air to the living.

I can't find much about the Commons on meta. At the moment commons:User:Arnomane has been doing a lot of work there for organising, updating and improving the 'help' pages (mostly Commons: namespace) and templates. Having translations there is really important for local project users who upload images there, so we can explain licensing requirements and answer FAQs etc. Having more translations will encourage more people to upload there instead of their local project.

An overview of the translations required is at commons:Commons:Help page maintenance and we would really, really super appreciate any and all help. For similar reasons we also always encourage multilingual people who are interested in becoming admins to apply. Thanks, if anyone can help out! --pfctdayelise 15:00, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I'm not sure where to post it - if not here, please, direct me to the correct place. So, on none of the Wikipedias I've looked so far an interface translation in Latvian language is not available - it's only for the Latvian Wikipedia itself. Why is that and how can this be fixed? Thanks! (submitted by Knakts)

Can anyone let me know in which language (code) Wikimedia:Wikimedija potrebuje vašo pomoč is written? It would be equivalent to Wikimedia:Wikimedia needs your help but the language is unfamiliar to me therefore I couldn't put links on it properly. Thanks. --Aphaia 20:17, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
