The Turbo-Tire Changer is an innovative machine that allows you to change 6" kart tires quickly and easily. It combines a bead breaker and mounting fixture into one piece of equipment for convenience.

To perform a Mini-Turbo in Mario Kart Tour, hold a drift until you see blue sparks appear under your kart. Once you see those sparks, lift your finger off the screen to receive a brief boost known as a Mini-Turbo.

Repairs after my accident were quite quick. It took me only 2 days to repair the frame. I was able to salvage the entire rear of the kart. Luckily, I was also able to procure a motorcycle hydraulic brake. This was a huge help. First I cut the frame down and introduced new steel members to replace the bent/defective ones. The images below show the repair sequence and upgrades.

As of now, the kart was finished. However, I wanted to do something insane and crazy. I went to the scrapyard and pulled an old Audi KO3 turbocharger for $80. I had to rebuild it and clean it for use. The installation was quick. I had to make a custom header and intake port along with a bracket for the turbo housing. Turbochargers require an oil system. I decided to use an old Toyota power steering pump to supply pressurized oil into the housing. This worked great. However, the turbo requires much patience and tuning. I decided to use a blow through system. This system compresses the air into the carburetor. Due to the Venturi effect of the carburetor, pressured air will bogg the engine out. I am still in the process of creating a pressured fuel system. However, contrary to the small engine turbo haters, this small turbo puts out approximately 4-5psi of boost at 3/4 throttle. This was tested with a boost gauge hooked to the blocked manifold during natural aspirated testing.

As of now, I had to put the project down due to the start of school. However, I have devised a plan to make the kart much safer. The turbo will be uninstalled until further notice. I am still looking into pressurized fuel systems. My time away from home gave me an opportunity to brainstorm and come up with some ideas. I bought a seat, 45 in axle, and a neck collar for protection. I am also planning on making a sprint kart type of roll cage for safety precautions. I will also install a 6pt racing harness to keep me from hurting myself again. Here are the new renderings I made in Sketch-up.

I am hoping that a quad turbo engine on the dyno making 800 or so HP draws in some YouTube views. I'd really like to get a YouTube channel going since I'm working on some pretty crazy stuff right now.

Yes, but I don't give him credit for it. He bought his vette after I did, he bought it already in kart form, and hasn't done any of the work to it himself, yet he gets all of the credit. I loathe people like that.

In Mario Kart Wii, karts can get a second level of mini-turbo by holding a drift longer before letting go. Is this any better than getting two regular mini-turbos on the same turn? If so, how? Does it provide more than double the boost? Does it take less than twice as long to get?

If speed is the only factor, I would say they are about the same. I spent some time playing tonight, running time trials on DS Yoshi Falls in a standard S kart. I ran the track about a dozen times, using the same route through the course. Half the time I would drift through the first turn long enough to do a double mini-turbo. The other half, I would use two regular drifts through the first run.

Based on my internal timer (i.e., I didn't use a stopwatch, just counted things off in my head), you have to drift 2 to 3 seconds to charge a regular turbo, for which you get a 0.5 to 1 second boost. The double mini-turbo requires a 4 to 5 second drift, for which you get about a 1.5 to 2 second burst. So, two regular boosts are roughly equivalent to a double.

I give a slight advantage to the double mini-turbo, however. Because you have to drift longer to charge for a double boost, you spend more time with your kart under control, holding the tightest line. Doing two regular boosts, you tend to lose your line between the two, which costs about a half second in lap time.

Of course, most of the turns in the game aren't big enough to allow drifting for 5 seconds, so a mini-turbo is what you'll use 90% of the time. But for big turns, hold your drift as long as possible. Driving the tightest, shortest line is what makes the overall difference.

Turbo Birdo is a Medium Class kart in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! You may notice this kart is very much Birdo's kart, having Birdo's face on the front making it look as if a giant Birdo was transformed into a kart. This kart is related to the kart, Turbo Yoshi. To unlock this kart, beat the 150cc Flower Cup in 1st place.

The next step is to after starting and maintaining the drift is to progress the drift into a turbo drift. To do this you will while continuing to hold the right bumper you will quickly move the joystick back to the left position.

When you get the hang of drifting a few helpful tips for Grand Prix mode is to trail in first or second laps and grab a power item such a lightning or a Star and hold on to it while you turbo drift to the lead for use just in case you need it to defend your position.

The Turbo Birdo first appears in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! as the signature kart of Birdo. It can be unlocked by completing the Flower Cup in 150cc. It is the heaviest middleweight kart in the game, and has average speed, acceleration, and handling.

In terms of actual stats, the Turbo Birdo has the same top speed as the Bloom Coach, but is tied with the Red Fire, Bullet Blaster, and Parade Kart for the weakest acceleration of all the three-star acceleration karts. Also, despite its four-star weight rating, the Turbo Birdo is only heavy enough to rival the weight of the Wario Car and Parade Kart. Its off-road is tied with the Green Fire and Bloom Coach.

The Turbo Birdo returns in Mario Kart Tour alongside Birdo as part of the 2019 Holiday Tour, where it is classified as a Super kart, and serves as her signature kart once again. Similar to the Turbo Yoshi, it only has one handlebar rather than two as in its original appearance, the rear of the kart curls up to resemble Birdo's tail, replacing the original kart's platform, and the joints of the first handlebar have moved to make room for the driver's emblem. The mouth now has a visible grille. It uses the same tires as the Turbo Yoshi, although the splash art for the 2020 Yoshi Tour shows it using the Pipe Frame's tires instead. The Turbo Birdo increases the duration of Mini-Turbo boosts and the number of points earned from performing Mini-Turbos.

The game introduces eight variants of the Turbo Birdo: a cyan variant introduced in the Vancouver Tour called the Light-blue Turbo Birdo, a yellow one introduced in the 2020 Yoshi Tour called the Yellow Turbo Birdo, a black one introduced in the 2021 Yoshi Tour called the Black Turbo Birdo, a blue one introduced in the 2nd Anniversary Tour called the Blue Turbo Birdo, a white one introduced in the 2022 Yoshi Tour called the White Turbo Birdo, an orange one introduced in the 2023 Winter Tour called the Orange Turbo Birdo, a red one introduced in the Princess Tour called the Red Turbo Birdo, and a green one introduced in the Vacation Tour called the Green Turbo Birdo. The light-blue, yellow, blue, orange, red, and green variants are also classified as Super karts, while the black and white variants are classified as High-End karts.
