Hello everyone, I hope you all are making the most of your well-deserved weekend! Reminders, reminders, reminders!
-Pleasant Grove's Bad Romance Dance is on February 12th. Buy pre-sale tickets at our next meeting!
-Monterey Trail Pageant & Talent Show is on February 19th, come and support your fellow Pageant contenders: Cheyenne Summerville and Jackson Do! Pre-sale for those tickets will be held at our next, next meeting (just to avoid confusion with the other pre-sale tickets).
-District Convention! Key Club needs a organized list of who will be attending as soon as possible. So if you will do me the favor, respond to this email telling me your name and a "yes, I will be attending DCON." The price will be a little less than $300 but more than $250 (but includes almost all of your expenses in travel and food). District convention will be held April 15-18th.
-I hope all incoming officers are working on their applications and speeches! If you have any questions/comments/concerns about a position, feel free to email/facebook your respective officer(s). Applications will be due February 9th and elections/caucusing will be held February 15th. Conclave (elections for our upcoming LTG) will be held on February 11th. I highly recommend you go to conclave if you're running (as it sets an example for your speech and the different types of questions you will be asked).
-Looking for a volunteering opportunity? We have an event tomorrow at the Discovery (Museum 3615 Auburn Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95821) from 9:15-1:15PM. You are required to print and fill out a waiver form, which you will be bring there. it can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?083kb2ncw8cghac
-Later that day (5:30-8:30PM) we have a Down Syndrome Information Alliance Meeting at River Life Church (4401 A Street, Sacramento). I attended this event just a couple of months ago, and from what I remember, we were assigned different tasks to entertain these children with Down Syndrome. It is a great way to participate with Project Shine!
- Remember to continue raising for Relay For Life which will be held May 21st-22nd! "Fight cancer one step at a time!"
Further information about new events/DCON/etc. will be presented at our next meeting, February 16th. So please do attend! And as for elections, attend and vote for yournew EGHS Key Club officers! :] Thanks for bearing with me and have a great weekend.
