Eggbot plans

I was looking around for the latest eggbot plans. I saw the plans for
the beta version that is acrylic and uses a solenoid for the pen up/
down, but I was looking for the plans for the newer one that uses a
servo for pen up/down. I have access to a CNC laser and want to make
one myself.

The new units are made from routed/milled circuit boards. So, Windell
may have Gerber files for the chassis....

We prototyped the design on a laser cutter, and there are some laser-cut
parts in the kits (the wooden pen-arm pieces). We will also be releasing
a laser-friendly version of the design at some point; feel free to bug me
here about it once we start shipping kits. The fiberglass that we're
using is remarkably stiff. If you want to use laser-cut plywood or
acrylic, you'll probably want to use thicker material instead, maybe 6 mm.

There is, of course, a lot more to the kit than just the chassis-- you'll
need the rest of the design docs as well, which we're planning to release
along with the kits.

We're still uploading docs; hardware docs on my short list now. Look for
it in the next couple of days. :)

I downloaded the plans and built my own eggbot. The free steppers that
I used were a bit rough though. Here is a video:

Hi Glenn,
Nice work; there's still something to be said for the clear chassis look. It appears that you have the current EBB, so you need steppers that have 200 steps/revolution.

Part of the problem in the above video was the steppers I was using
were too few steps/revolution but they were free. I got new steppers
that are 200 steps per rev and it works much better now. See the new
