Hello,

I just got my eggbot and am having some troubles toggling the pen up
and down.

As soon as I press "apply" on my eggbot control, it displays this
message:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "eggbot.py", line 30, in <module>
import serial
ImportError: No module named serial

I have a Mac (10.5.8), downloaded the inkscape version 10.5 for
leopard and the extension EggBot2.2.2.r2.mpkg.zip.

I have also seen a previous discussion on the topic, and I have tried
to set my permission to "read and write" for all the options, as it
was not working.

I do not have the folder "serial" in my extensions and have already
tried downloading software many times over.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Sincerely,

Maghnus

This is due to a permissions error in the Mac installer.  Would you please give this (beta) installer a try?

I think that installer is bad. It is only 4Kbytes, while EggBot2.2.2.r2.mpkg.zip is 188 Kbytes. I tried to open EggBot2.2.2.r3.mpkg, and it won't open.

Should it have been zipped before being uploaded?

Doh!

Good catch-- something apparently went wrong in the upload process. I've uploaded a new copy, and it's the right size. Double-checked by downloading and installing it over here, too.
