Hi Nephig,

I will try find someone for you, though i would still suggest that you invest in someone experienced since finding an undergrad with all those experiences is close to impossible and if you do find someone they will ask for much more than 50K since they are not that many.

You can also talk to David Maina by the way. :) he will be of much help.

Dear Team,

I am looking for someone to fill up the position of an Intern Software engineer beginning January 2018, at some technology startup in Nairobi ( I will give details later). The successful person will work on a contract of six months, renewable upon successful performance.

   1. Nature of Assignment

   - Will involve design and construction of distributed web applications and core systems :-

   

    a)  For mass market , meaning such systems must be reliable, scalable and embarrassingly high performance and of ultra low latency.

    b) that involve integration of system of systems using open protocols and APIs

   c) that  rely  nearly 100% on artificial intelligence, machine learning and natural language processing technology to deliver viable and adaptive solutions to a given segment of customers. 

  d) that embed social network like functionality 

  e) that can be accessed via mobile app, mobile browsers, and standard browsers 

  f)  that are built on a resilient and adaptable system architecture that allows friction-less evolution.

g) that are light and of compelling and intuitive user experience.

 2. Qualifications 

 a. Completed Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Software engineering (preferred),  BSc in Computer Engineering or Electronic Engineering will be considered as well. BSc IT may be considered. Those with BBIT not need apply.

b) Thorough theoretical and conceptual understanding of the following is mandatory :-

     i.   Basic Linear Algebra particularly Matrix Algebra.

     ii.  Basic Trigonometry especially properties of cosine functions

     iii.  Basic probability and statistics including statistical modeling and regression analysis

     iv.  Basic differential calculus 

      v.  Neural Networks and Machine Learning:- Classification and Prediction algorithms

      vi.   Statistical Natural Language Processing processing and Text Mining with their implementation in either python, R, or Java, preferred in that order.

     vii.  Software Engineering Design Patterns especially : Middle-ware and service bus pattern, service oriented architecture  and MVC.

    viii. Software Engineering Architecture and Design - ability to come up with alternative architectures and designs for the same problem and recommend an optimal one as a solution factoring a wide range of practical constraints.

    ix. Automated software stressing and performance testing

    x.  Human Computer Interface Design and User Interface Design

    xi.  Algorithm Design and Analysis 

    xii.  Basic graph theory 

c. The following are preferred :

   i.   Practical programming skills in one or more of : (Python including DJango) with R or Java with R - 

 ii. Practical experience with Natural Language processing engineering -Plus

 iii. Practical experience of webservices technology -  mandatory 

 iv. Practical experience of middle-ware technologies - Mandatory 

v. Practical experience of graph based data structures and graph databases - Plus

vi. Practical experience of MYSQL DBMS technology - mandatory 

vii. Practical experience developing Xplatform UIs. - Mandatory

viii. Experience of Android app programming  - Mandatory 

Package : NET Salary per month 50K to start with.
