Kings Distributed Systems is an organisation that has ventured into virtualized hybrid computing system by formulating a protocol called Distributed Compute Protocol (DCP) that is deployed over a network for the purpose of utilizing idle network resources. That is, if there are computers within the network that are processing heavy work, using the DCP protocol, the load can be shared with idle computers over the network hence increasing efficiency.

We held a meeting with them as you can see in the email below and l requested if we can have another meeting so that they could explain to a larger group of interested persons. The solution has already been deployed at JKUAT.

Attached are documents l requested they share for your perusal before the virtual meeting. Please register to attend the webinar and learn more about the protocol.

Please inform any other person l may have left out in the mailing list that you feel might be interested.

Hi Kimani,

I saw that you have registered for the workshop, thank you. Unfortunately we got a lot of messages about scheduling conflicts and decided it was best to move it to the 18th of Nov.

Nonetheless, the next step from our meeting was to present and demo DCP for a larger group of people at Egerton, we can look at scheduling that so we can have a discussion focused on requirements for Egerton. I am off work next week but we can book something in for the week 8th November? Please let me know what days work for a 3pm, 4pm or 5pm (EAT) meeting in the week of 8th November.

Thanks.

Hello Kimani,

Hope you are doing well. Have you had a chance to discuss Compute.for(Africa) with your colleagues?

We are keen to have a 2nd meeting to demo DCP to a larger audience at Egerton University. Here are some possible scheduling options over the next week:

  • Wednesday 27th Oct, 2pm
  • Friday 29th Oct,  2pm and 3pm
  • Monday 1st Nov, 2pm, 3.30pm
  • Tuesday 2nd Nov, 2pm
  • Wednesday 3rd Nov, 2pm

All times are in EAT, and we will probably need an hour. Please let me know what works and I will set it up.

Thanks and have a great week!
