Dear EWB and EGB members,
The Patel Center for Global Solutions at USF, in partnership with the Netherlands Water Partnership and the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission, is presenting a workshop on Friday June 12, 2009 from 10am-3pm.
This is the first workshop of its kind held in our region, that I am aware of, which focuses on adapting our cities to potential impacts of climate change. A Dutch delegation of city planners and water managers are in Florida this week, and we were able to assemble this workshop on short notice. We will be examining techniques and policies that the Dutch have applied to cities like Rotterdam for climate change adaptation. The program is shaping up very nicely but we need to get the word out to the community. We are very interested in having EWB and EGB members join the discussion. The invitation is also going out to engineers, planners, municipal managers and the like.
Please help to spread the word to others who may be interested in participating. The event is free but registration (by emailing Bessie Skoures of the Patel Center) is required due to limited seating.
Thank you, and I hope you can join us for this very important dialogue.

Hi Patrick and Shannon,
Thanks for your note. We will look into a way to tape the event….but no promises.
As a FYI to eveyrone…the setting on the google group is strange in that when you reply to the sender’s email, it actually goes out to the entire EGB group. If you want to reply to the sender, you will need to manually specify the sender’s address.
I know the list owner was Chris…not sure who manages it now (Caryssa? Kyle?) Can someone check the setting on the listserve so that replies don’t go back out to the whole list?
Btw, I am still working on the agenda link. It should be active by this afternoon.
Thanks
Daniel
