Market Analyst
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the implementation of the New
Construction Environmental Design Programs through a variety of energy
technology, applications, marketplace, program and policy analyses of
sustainable building practices, energy efficiency technologies and
renewable energy. Gather data and information relevant to energy
efficiency issues, such as technology, economic or environmental.
Project coordination of projects participating in LEED, GreenPoint
Rated, Energy Star for New Homes and other green building programs
throughout southern California. Conduct analyses of the resulting
data and information. Collaborate in or individually execute the
development and presentation of reports and presentations, including
written reports, spreadsheets and graphic materials resulting from
analysis tasks. Review proposed program submittals and provide
analysis and recommendations to facilitate program participation.
Manage a range of projects through our Case Studies and Advanced Home
Programs from initial application, through design review, construction
and verification. Prepare written communications for projects. Assist
with the training and oversight of staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in environmental science, urban
planning, architecture, engineering or energy-related field is
required. A demonstrated interest in sustainable design, green
building practices, energy efficiency and energy technologies.
Proficient data collection, statistical, analytic and written skills
required as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to understand architectural plans and awareness of residential
and commercial technologies recommended. Experience or demonstrated
aptitude to learn and apply residential building sciences and building
energy codes. A working knowledge of the California Building Energy
Efficiency Standards is desired but not necessary. Have strong
computer skills and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office
applications including Access and Microsoft Project. Must have strong
project management skills and the ability to balance multiple
priorities. Must demonstrate creative thinking and personal initiative
and have the ability to handle the demands of an intense work
environment. Effectively work with team members of varied backgrounds
and skills.
