tasks that will deliver our goals, and create a means to measure our
progress.

4. EGB Dues and Integration Discussion
The conversations to make this change started over a year ago
Reasons to change
-Technological problems with technology-Creating additional profiles
-As an EGB member you were excluded from chapter leadership\
-Previous system created loopholes in the system which made it had to
track membership
Changes
-Two levels Student associate and full membership
-Pushes the chapters to create an EGB with suggested EGB Pricing
within chapters
EGB plans to help smooth this transition by
-Giving best practices for both chapters
-EGB-
-Research shows that student to professional groups is typically not a
smooth transition. USGBC has the opportunity to create benefits for
students who progress into EGB
-Frequently asked questions closed for pilot this summer-Ended May
29th
Launching officially in September
Estimate 20 student pilot groups actual 50
-Creating a clear transition from Students to EGB-
Idea-Student groups as a part of the EGBS-sitting on
the committee
How the students are integrated- Questions about the change…will they
have to choose.
-What is the transition going to be on paper?
Are people going to have to choose??
Is the Membership qualification going to be vague enough to ensure
that students are not excluded from the group.
EGB will have the opportunity to
-EGB is not exclusive to students this will be something that needs to
be addressed within the pilot groups to see what works and what does
not….EGB should be the natural progression from USGBC Students
Metric-if EGB is experiencing growth as a result of the USGBC Student
Groups then we can call success….if not then we may need to go back
to the drawing board.
-USGBC Students-Half time full time??? Does a part time student
qualify….so is that person an EGB Students.
-For the Tool Kits….Links all three –Natural Path from USGBC-
Students>>>>EGB>>>>USGBC
-Comment-NTDC-Stays within EGB- Essential fundraiser for.
-Will there be something going out in writing about the changes-Things
have been sent out piecemeal but nothing that really address all the
changes in regards to EGB….maybe put together a short EGB/USGBC
Students changes and update for hot topics??
