My name is Darrell Reid, and I am the Fire Chief and Director for Strathcona County Emergency Services in Alberta, Canada.  As a component of my studies in the United States Fire Administration / National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program, I have undertaken an Applied Research Project titled "Developing an Internal Communications Plan for Strathcona County Emergency Services."

 

In support of my research, I am asking representatives from Fire and Emergency Services agencies in Canada and the United States for their perspectives on internal communications in their organizations.

 

Please note that I am very interested in comparing the perspectives of both emergency services members and communications professionals. If you have received this survey as a chief officer or other uniformed/sworn department member, please feel free to ask a communications professional who works with your department to do this survey as well (and vice versa).

 

It is estimated that this survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Those completing the survey will have the opportunity to request the survey results.

I hope all is going well for both of you. I just sent the email to the EFO proby group and will send it out to a few more groups this morning. (I will let you know who?)  My final paper was just  received at the NFA February 21.  My family is looking at going to Banff and Jasper this summer, if it works out I could probably talk them into heading a little east.  I could show them where one on the little teams in the NHL play’s.  Neal every time I go to a conference I hope to run into you, hopefully my luck will change and I will be able to catch up with you in the near future.
