I just posted this in the ASEM forums, but since I fully expect it to
be locked or deleted I might as well double post it here right away.
Nicer crowd here anyway. Obviously the last question isn't really
relevant in this forum... :)

---

I gave up and went out and bought myself a GA311 NIC after 3.6.11. It
has worked reasonably okay, until today. After waking from sleep the
NIC can no longer get an IP from the DHCP. Remembering reading
something about this somewhere I rebooted the machine, hoping that
would solve it. It didn't. I've tried a few other things since
(setting link speed manually and that sort of thing) but no go, the
NIC no longer works. In OS X that is, Win7 works as it should.

Looks like I need a temporary fix for my temporary fix.

So, two questions.

Anybody seen this and solved it? (And no, I'm not going to reinstall
the OS)

Any news on a permanent fix from ASEM? Yeah yeah, I know, no ETAs but
it's been a while since LAN broke with the 3.4.6 release and, not to
put too fine a point on it, it's getting really old now.

I was going to get one myself tomorrow (a GA311 that is). Looks like
it's not going to solve the problem after all.

I wonder what they have f... up in the network stack this time to
impact all kinds of devices ...

Sorry to disapoint you but there is no new from Efix about a solution
to the problem and the only fix I found is to use the genuine Apple
USB ethernet adapter from my Macbook Air. That one works flawlessly,
but it's only 100 Mb/s ...

And I don't believe for a second that reinstalling the OS is going to
help any ...

Another week like that and I'm ready to buy a MacPro :-)

I never sleep my EP45-DQ6 but I dropped it into sleep just to see what
would happen. I can't wake from the keyboard...never could. I have
to use the power button. Anyway, everything came up ok. I still had
my IP in system preferences and in iStatpro ... I could load mail,
calendars, and contacts....the iPhone hooked in ok and everything
synced through the cloud or over the wire, but I could not get Firefox
to come up. Unison loaded ok....but not Firefox. Safari loaded ok as
well.
Mine, too is a GA card, and I just think its odd that Firefox would
cause me any grief. Mine was a very short sleep sequence. I then
rebooted and everything was back to normal....well normal for Efux.
OK...I know this doesn't help...but I thought I would try it out
anyway.
