Dear
Effectuators,
Im sure there will
be more lofty intellectual conversation on this email list in the future.
But for now, Im offering fun. If you are coming to BCERC here in
Lausanne this summer, come a couple of days early. Im organizing an
overnight trip to an alpine hut in the Swiss Alps. We (me, my wife Teri
and our two boys) have lived here for 5 years now, this is one of the
things about Switzerland we like the most, and Im happy to share it with you if
youd like. Heres the program:
> Monday morning,
June 7th (not too early), we leave Lausanne
> Its about a 2
hour drive to the start of the trail (Ill organize
transportation)
> We hike for
about 2 hours (not technical, but strenuous alpine hiking)
> Views,
glaciers, mountain wildflowers and maybe even a marmot if we're
lucky
> We arrive at
the hut with a fire where they prepare dinner and have simple
bunks
> All you need to
bring is a day pack with water, a couple of layers and good hiking
shoes
> In the morning,
they serve us breakfast to prepare us for our hike down
> We will be back
to Lausanne by Tuesday evening in time for the doctoral consortium on
Wednesday
> It costs around
chf 60
All you need to do
is let me know you are interested (any time between now and the end of April)
and Ill get it organized. Looking forward to seeing you here in
Lausanne!
Best,
Stuart
