Dear all,
We have been hoping for a while to upgrade EFES so that we no longer have to ask users to install the now-deprecated JDK 7 or 8 in order for it all to work. And as many of you know, we had a couple of *new* critical failures with the code for 5 out of the 50
participants at the EpiDoc workshop a couple weeks ago. I'm sure you all agree that we need to get fixes in place for both of these things *as soon as possible*, and in particular before the September EFES and XSLT workshop that we are planning.
Obviously Jamie's involvement in this is critical, so a lot will depend on his availability, willingness, and capacity to help with this work. But I would like to ask if you all would also be willing to help out with tweaking and testing any changes involved.
All volunteers welcome, at whatever level of technical competence.
In particular, I would like to ask those of you who are running currently funded projects if you have any budget available to help fund this essential maintenance work on the tool? Please contact me offlist if you'd like to discuss how this might be used.
Many thanks in advance, and all best,
Gabby
