Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Elena Dorogaya, I am providing services for immigrants (see below) mainly in Ireland, Galway and county.

At the moment I am updating my database of translators/interpreters and would like to ask you if you have any professionals interested to work for me on a self-employment basis? I need specialist in the following languages: Estonian, Bulgarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Georgian, Armenian, Polish, Moldovan, Romanian, Slovakian and Czech.

Here is some brief information about myself and my business.

I came to Ireland from Russia in 2000. My education: honours bachelor degree in linguistics; higher certificate in business development. In 2005 I registered Galway Linguistic Services (sole trader); certificate N 287680.

The main activities are:

- Translations: usually small legal documents (1 or 2 pages), such as: birth/marriage/divorce/death/medical/educational certificates, statements, court rulings, employment references, etc.

 - interpretations: legal/medical/community/general: assignments in marriage/social welfare offices, hospitals, police stations, schools, trade unions, meetings with doctors/solicitors/accountants/employers, etc.;

- Consultations on immigration: residency, naturalisation, work permits, student visas, housing, social welfare, employment, etc.;

- Assistance in everyday situations: preparing CVs, obtaining information, writing letters on behalf of my clients, advise on business activities, taxes;

- Language courses: Russian, English.

About 10 interpreters/translators (mainly specialists in the Eastern European languages) provide their services for me from time to time on a self-employment basis and are responsible for their own tax and PRSI returns.

The rates are:

- Translations:  €15 per 1 page of A4 format document (usually the size of a birth certificate). As I mentioned before I do not have big volumes for translations and thus there is no per word” rate at the moment.

- Interpretations: €15 per hour. Usually there are no driving costs involved (the assignments are in Galway, sometimes over telephone), if the jobs are outside the city – it will be discussed in advance.

The payments are made to the translators’/interpreters’ bank account once a month upon the subsistence of their invoices.

Work practice:

- Self-employment basis;

- Confidentiality;

- Time efficient (translations -1 or 2 working days; interpretations – as soon as possible).

Requirements:

- EU nationals/residents;

- Degrees, diplomas, certificates in linguistics (preferably);

- Experience in translating/interpreting;

- be computer literate (be able to use email, Word, Excel, open PDF files);

- have access to internet.

At the moment majority of my clients are Eastern Europeans, but I am thinking about extending my business and will be looking for other opportunities.

Please ask your translators/interpreters to contact me and email their CVs as well as the photocopies of the passports, driving licences, degrees, diplomas and certificates (if not in English, please provide the translations)? These are required for my clients, solicitors/notaries I am working with.

I am going on holidays soon and will contact you after 20.07.09.

Kind regards,

Elena Dorogaya
