En içten dileklerimle,
Dear EESTECers
Not too long ago, LC Zürich hosted an amazing pack of EESTECers to
rebuild the famous smartphone game "Angry Birds" in real life.
This made us put ourselves under a lot of pressure to make this
year's workshop even more memorable. After an intense decision
making process, we are proud to announce the topic of our next
workshop:
In "Slot Engines
Xtreme" you will
take a close look at the small but fascinating world of slot cars.
In this workshop you will compete in small teams to build the fastest slot
car. Slot cars? Well, we're sure you were as fascinated by
those mini racing cars - built by companies like Carrera - that
went from 0 to infinite speed on a push of a button as we were -
and still are!
Of
course, this comes with a nice package of racing performance and
electrical engine theory. So you will not only have the
chance to show off your creativity but also your engineering
talent. How? You will spend most of your time building your own
small electrical engine - the centerpiece of your mini racing car.
In the end, we will test
your cars at their limit on a big public racing track. May
the best engineers win!
Of course, that's not it - by far! As much as we appreciate a
great academical part in our workshop we're also known for some of
the finest cultural
activities in EESTEC. We don't want to reveal the whole
program already but here are some of the higlights:
For the first time ever, we will attend the "Sächsilüüte" in Zurich. It's a spring
tradition that, in today's form, dates back to 1902. After a
beautiful parade of the guilds of Zürich, the Böögg, a huge
snowman spiked with firecrackers, will be burned on a huge
bonfire. It is said that the time that passes from the start of
the fire until the explosion of the Böögg's head determines the
weather of the summer...
Other cultural activities include clubbing, our amazing city rally
and of course the legendarytramparty. If this still isn't
enough EESTEC spirit for you, keep on reading!
Because we're Swiss, we're trying to plan your stay in Zurich as
efficient and fun as possible. So, after a week of excitement and
high level performance at both day and night, you will get the
chance to relax and enjoy some fun activities on our motivational
weekend in the Swiss mountains.
This and even more amazing experiences are waiting for you in
Zurich! No previous knowledge is required but we do require you to
be ready to have
some serious fun and
- what probably goes without saying at an EESTEC event - to be
able go without much sleep for a week. If this sounds like you, welcome to Zurich!
We’re excited to get your motivational letter!
PS: If you wish, we can organize the transportation to Munich
for the congress after our workshop. Accommodation until
congress will also be organized.
Also, we will happily accept
unofficial participants. Please wait for the respective
call after the application deadline.
Arrival Notes: For planning purposes, we want to inform you already about the following arrival/departure guidelines. The event is designed such as you should arrive before 12 o'clock on April 14th in Zurich and depart after 2 pm on April 21st from Zurich. Of course, we will be happy to host you some days before and/or after the event!
