Dear EESTECers,
This May, Madrid will be the place to be. We proudly present our yearly workshop, with a brand new name: Going Green!, based in the challenging field of Green Technology.
We live in a society with a higher demand of energy. This increasing necessity has become a real problem, directly affecting our environment and natural resources. Accordingly, it is not a surprise that companies have started pursuing a maintainable productive model and investing part of their incomes in this new Green Technology. However, what is then Green Technology? Just the application of technology and echo sciences to the preservation of our ecosystem. Green technology is a field of new, innovative ways to make changes in daily life. Currently, this Clean Technology is in the beginning stages of its development, so the future will only bring bigger and better things.
Under this green theme, lectures will deepen into the subjects of energetic efficiency, sustainable development or echo-friendly buildings. Furthermore, the week will be completed with visits to some of our University laboratories, other companies' researching centers and even real examples of sustainable houses. So, from 5th to 12th of May participants will have the chance to enlarge both their theoretical and practical knowledge in the matter.
But wait, there is more. We don't forget about our city, Madrid, and its major and minor secrets. During afternoons, history, through monuments and buildings, will be revealed before our eyes, while nights will be dedicated to explore the meaning of “fiesta”. The capital of Spain is known for its never-sleeping life, and we will invite you to discover it with us (would you be willing to try your own limits? ;) ).
To end the event with the best sensation, we prepared a special weekend in the countryside. Two days, lost in the rural area of a near mountain. Time to relax, time to nature and, again, time to party. What else can you ask for ??
Perhaps we could add some of our Spanish spirit to the mixture … Drinking sangría or eating tortilla and jamón, along with our natural cheerful attitude will bring you closer to our lively culture. Don't hesitate and apply :D, you have till 24th of March to make up your mind
Finally, as we always say...We are so sorry to have to say this, every year we have to make great efforts to find sponsors for our events, and although last years were faultless ;) , we expect an exemplary attitude from all of you and we friendly ask you for cooperation and comprehension. Irresponsible attitudes won't be tolerated and in case it happens, participants will be warned and eventually expelled from the event if warnings are disregarded.
When it is time to party, we party (and trust me, we will! ;D), but when it's time to work, we must work (and later we have party! ^^).
You don't wanna miss this!!!
