Dear EENPS members,

It is my pleasure to share with you some news as we wrap up this academic year.

First and foremost, please save the dates of 18-19th of September 2026 for the 6th Biennial EENPS Conference. It will take place at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Philosophy, to whom we are deeply grateful for agreeing to host us. The chair of the local organising committee is Dr. Bianca Savu of this institution. The co-Chairs of the Program Committee are Dr.Elena Popa (University of Seville) and Dr Aviezer Tucker (Ostrava/Harvard). You can expect a call for abstracts sometime in autumn 2025 with submissions due likely in winter 2026. Many thanks to these colleagues for their hard work on our conference. We hope for a strong and well attended meeting at a great time of year in Bucharest. There is a possibility of a workshop on Sunday September 20th 2026 following the conference if funds and organisers can be found.

Second, the vote to amend the EENPS Statute has taken place with 64 votes cast (26% of members) and it was overwelmingly in favour (62 yes votes, i.e. 98%). The amended statute has been posted on our website. Special thanks to Joanna Malinowska for making the online vote possible and to Magdalena Małecka, Lilia Gurova, Borut Trpin, and Michal Hladky for leadership and support leading up to this. The new rules enable realistic and practical decision-making virtually and in-person.

Finally, a range of activities are ongoing:
- a mentorship scheme got relaunched thanks to the efforts of Zdenka Brzović.
- Anna Martin is editing the members publications newsletter. Do not forget to send her your new publications!
- we are on BlueSky now in addition to other social media run by Joanna Malinowska.
- the PSA Around the World with a spotlight on Eastern and Central Europe will be an online conference in the afternoons of Thursday, November 6; Friday, November 14; Saturday, November 22 2025. Standby for parallel and panels sessions showcasing past, present, and future of philosophy of science in the region. Tomáš Marvan (Czech Academy of Sciences) and Magdalena Malecka (University of Copenhagen) are organising. Please attend and support this important event.

As ever we welcome member-led initiatives such as seminars, reading groups, and networking. Please get in touch to share your ideas by emailing me or our Deputy Coordinator Gabriel Târziu.

Wishing you a restful summer,

Very best wishes
Anna Alexandrova (Coordinator)
