COGNITIVE SCIENCE CONFERENCE
Call for papers
The Slovenian Cognitive Science conference, organised by the Slovenian Society for Cognitive Science, will be held as part of the multiconference Information Society at Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana.
The conference brings together researchers and scholars from a wide range of fields, including neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, artificial intelligence, linguistics, anthropology, and related disciplines. It aims to support dialogue across different research areas, methodologies, and theoretical perspectives.
Submissions from all areas of cognitive science are welcome. We particularly encourage contributions that reflect the diversity of topics, challenges, methods, and insights that define contemporary cognitive science. Papers from all core disciplines will be considered, including neuroscience, philosophy, artificial intelligence, psychology, linguistics, anthropology, educational sciences, economics, and other relevant fields.
The program committee places special value on interdisciplinary work that connects distinct research approaches, terminologies, and viewpoints.
We hope the conference will offer an open and welcoming space for networking, discussion, and the exchange of ideas. It is intended to bring together both local and international researchers, from early-career scholars to experienced professionals. We invite all who wish to present their empirical or theoretical work to submit their extended abstracts.
Submission, review process, publication
Please submit your extended abstract of 4 pages (including references), formatted according to the multiconference template, through the EasyChair platform (the links to the EasyChair conference platform and the template are available at the multiconference webpage: https://is.ijs.si/?page_id=14415).
Extended abstracts will go through a review process. In addition, they will receive an automatic language and clarity check supported by a large language model, aimed at helping authors improve their manuscripts before final submission. Both English and Slovenian language papers are welcome; in case you will submit your work in Slovenian language, include the English title, keywords and abstract in the manuscript.
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Authors of selected contributions will be encouraged to expand and publish their work in INDECS.
Deadlines and dates
- Submission deadline: September 1, 2025
- Notification to authors: September 10, 2025
- Camera-ready papers (submission of final version): September 20, 2025
- Date of the conference: October 9, 2025
Further information
The language of presentation is English or the language in which the abstract was submitted. Attending the conference is free of charge but authors of papers must register at the Information Society multiconference webpage (https://is.ijs.si/?lang=en) and pay the registration fee. The conference fee is 200 euro, and 100 euro for others (students, pensioners). In case of multiple authors of a single contribution only one fee is requested. See: https://is.ijs.si/?p=16210.
A round table discussion with invited guests will take place after the main conference program. Further details will be announced on the conference website.
