EEGUI’s price just went up.
In light of the fact that over the past 2 years, there have been ZERO gui systems that have been developed (and not for lack of trying…) that can compare to the power, flexibility, and stability of EEGUI… I have realized that I am severely undervaluing my GUI system.
$40 is simply tooooooo low a price for this.
I mean, seriously, I was chastised for selling it for even $40 before… “It’s JUST a GUI system… it’s not worth THAT much!”
But really, look around. I have seen, in the past 3 or 4 years in the TV community, about 10 different other people CLAIM they were going to make a GUI system.
A few of them have actually been released, and upon inspection… the code was crap, and there were gaping flaws in the code that really prevented it from being anything worthwhile.
A few of them got started, showed promise, and just disappeared… incomplete, never released. (TVGUI is an example)
Thus far, in 2 years (as of this month it’s been 2 years since the official release of EEGUI), I am the only person who has managed to get a real, full-featured GUI out the door! It’s supported, it’s maintained, it’s upgraded to include new features… and to be honest… no other GUI product even comes close to what EEGUI can do.
Plus, I’m thinking about making a graphical GUI editor… but that will be for EEGUI 2.0, which will LIKELY be $100 or so for a license… which means that whatever you paid for your 1.x license will be applied to your upgrade, and you can just make up the difference. (Remember, the EEGUI license is for 1.x and all updates to it… 2.0 will be a whole new license.)
Plans for 2.0 also include multiple render surface “Layers” that will update (redraw) independently to increase performance.
Anyway… seriously… current users don’t have to pay anything more for 1.x… but new users will have to pay $65.
