Captains Meeting, Championship

Hi all,

Sorry for the late notice, but it looks like tomorrow 1-2pm might work best for the Captains meeting.
  • Jon, Erik, and Maria: Does that time still work for you?
  • Brett: Do you think you could find someone else from IHT who could make that time?
  • Ellis: I know you aren't planning to be a captain this fall, but could you check with the rest of DOF and see if someone else can make that time?
If all that works, maybe we aim to meet at the tables outside on the southeast corner of Etcheverry Hall?

I've updated the schedule with the championship game: DOF @ IHT at 7:20 this coming Monday. Remember that the championship goes a full 7 innings.

Thanks for setting this up Mitch, sorry I can't make it for the meeting either. Just to double check, the championship is still 9 innings right?

Since I won’t be able to make the meeting, I did want to throw out one idea beforehand. I know our team enjoyed the double headers this season. It’s nice to play for a little longer than 50 minutes. I wanted to suggest the idea of scheduling all games for 90 (80 + 10 minute buffer) minutes. If we do that I think we’d want to eliminate the double headers as 3 hours is a bit much but I think it would be nice to consistently be out there a bit longer.

Yes, thank you! The championship is 9 innings, not 7 like I said earlier.

Also, thanks Ellis. That's good news. In that case, do you think you could check to see if anyone on DOF can make the meeting tomorrow? Otherwise I'll send Will a summary of the minutes.

Also, Zack from IHT will be at the meeting. He said he wasn’t able to reply to the captains list so not sure if you guys got his message.

Another thought/suggestion:

I think the lights were staying on a bit past 10 this season, right? What if we went back to listing the start time as on the hour and planning to start the game before 10 past the hour? This season it seemed a lot of times we’d have people see 7:50, think 8:00, and then show up between 8 and 8:05. In theory there should be no difference  with regards to people  getting there before the start time but it practice there seems (to me) to have been a bit of a psychological one.
