Hi Captains,

Unfortunately, it looks like we may be down to 5 teams this summer: DOF, IHT, iSchoolU, SMS, and Tsar Bomba. Though there is a possiblity that we may add a new team from EECS, I'd like to get your thoughts on what a 5 team schedule would look like.

We could go one of two ways:
  1. 3 games per week, with one team playing a double-header each week. This gives each team something like 19 games, with each team playing in 3 double-headers over the course of the season.
  2. 2 games per week, with one team having a bye each week. This gives each team something like 12 games with each team having about 4 byes. (My estimate is that this will save each team $50.)

I think the first sounds like a better option to me (more softball!) but I want to get your opinions. If you could get back to me in the next few days on your preferences I'd appreciate it, since I'd like to be able to get a tentative* schedule made by the end of this weekend.

*Schedule will obviously need to change if we are able to add a 6th team.

-Mitch

#1! I think most people would appreciate more softball.

Best,

Sending an email to IHT now but I’m pretty sure #1 will be the consensus

Will run it by the team. For me, I'm all for more softball. So I like #1.

If we do have double-headers, let's just make sure they're always on the same night!

And always one right after the other, not split up by a middle game.

Yes, absolutely :) We won't make anyone sit around for an hour.
