Hi Michael (and I've cc'd the captains list to fill them in too),

I spoke with the Cal Athletics coordinator at the end of the fall to see about using Levine-Fricke field again next summer. As of that time they were expecting the renovations on that field to begin over the summer, and so it would be unavailable. They recognized that these things often get delayed, so instructed me to check again at the beginning of March.

Assuming that doesn't go anywhere, we have a couple options. I think trying to find a field off-campus is the most likely to result in a successful, complete season. However, we could also reevaluate other on campus options that may be more available without so many student activities competing for space. I'm think Maxwell field (used by intramurals, but all synthetic turf) may be an option, as well as perhaps Golden Bear field if we schedule early enough in the day to make lighting unnecessary.

I haven't had the time to look into these yet—I had my qualifying exam last week—but my hope is to start making inquiries. If (any of) you have other options or have time to help gather info, let me know. It would be a big help.

Hoping we can pull something together to get back out there this summer,

-Mitch

Hi Michael,

I've talked to the folks at Cal Athletics and they have led me to believe that we should be able to reserve Levine-Fricke field again next summer and follow our normal summer scheduling. I'll know for sure shortly after Thanksgiving, which is when Cal Athletics asked me to follow up with them about confirming our schedule for next summer. I'll let you (and the league) know for sure once I try to do that.

Best,

-Mitch

Hi Mitch,

Are there any updates on the future of EECS league?

I ask because I am considering forming a Berkeley City league team for next April, playing Monday nights, but will not if EECS league will start up again.

If EECS league cannot find a venue, are you interested in joining the Berkeley City team?

Michael
