Just wanted to alert you all to a few upcoming events, both of which
should involve some (or "a lot of") discussion around energy
efficiency. RSVPs required for both.
Best,
Maria

Dinner Event: California's Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan

Monday, April 12, 2010 | 6 - 7:30pm | on campus (tbd) | RSVP required

Come participate in a lively and engaging discussion on California's
Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan. Panelists will include Cathy Fogel
and Kristina Skierka from the California Public Utilities Commission
and Ed Vine from the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. A delicious
dinner will be served.

Adopted on September 18, 2008, California's Energy Efficiency
Strategic Plan resulted from the work of over 500 individuals and
organizations across the state and nation. The plan targets
California's residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural
sectors. And it includes lofty goals: ensuring all new residential
construction achieves zero-net energy by 2020 and reshaping the
state's HVAC industry, for example.

This dinner panel will explore the plan's implementation. Discussion
will focus on 1) successful aspects of the program; 2) challenges in
working with the various sectors: agriculture, industrial,
residential, and commerical; 3) prospects for a statewide energy
efficiency organization; 4) effectiveness of utilities' efficiency
programs in 2009 in light of the plan; and 5) the role of finance.

Please RSVP here by April 8: http://berc.berkeley.edu/events#caleeplan.
Participants will receive more information on the plan in preparation
for the dinner event.
