Hi all faceted folks,

so I'am in lazy mode and in need to write a custom widget. Its a kind of
blog-archive widget, one where you can click on the year and only
results published in this year are showing up and then treelike theres a
month with only articles of the month are found. I.e.:

2012
January (2)
February (3)
March (1)
2011
January (1)
February 2)
March ()
..
..
2010
..
2009
..

So my questions are:

- is there a good widget to base on?
- is there some howto writing custom widgets for fectednavigation? From
a first look it isnt that trivial (inlcuding javascript magic in
there).
- should it go into eea.facetednavigation itself or should i provide it
as an addon?

regards

HI Jens,

That's an interesting widget idea so +1 for it.

You can use the Alphabetic Widget as a starting point. Unfortunately
there is no HowTo about doing this, maybe we can write one after you
finish it. Still, I am here to assist you, so feel free to question me
when you get stuck ;)

This is a nice to have widget, so maybe you should include it in
eea.facetednavigation itself (in this case, be aware, Chuck Noris is
watching you:

:))

Cheers,
Alin
