Greetings,

Are there any tutorials or documentation that specifically describe how to create the various visualisations? I am particularly interested in charts and timelines.
Thank you in advance for your help.

With kind Regards,

Michael Guravage

Hi Michael,

Here is a short screen-cast that I just made on how to add a simple motion chart to your Daviz Visualization using GHG-vs-GDP.tsv file:

Have a nice weekend,

Dear Alin,

Thanks for your speedy response.

My data lends itself to presentation in various chart forms. I've got eea.daviz up and running in a new Plone 4.2 instance. I've even uploaded several csv datasets. I see the default columnar representation, but I would very much like to learn how to render it as a google chart.  If I upload your 'GHG per capita vs GDP per capita in Europe' data, could you talk me through the steps to display this as a simple scatter plot?
We could correspond via email or google chat.

With kind regards,

Michael

Yap, I used the trunk versions of packages for that screencast.

I just released the latest code of eea.daviz and dependencies on pypi and plone.org, so please update.

Cheers,
Alin

Hi Michael,

Sorry for the delayed answer, I had some family health issues these days. Did you manage to fix it?

Do you have the same issues on a fresh new Plone instance?

If so, can you check JavaScript errors with firebug and provide a more detailed traceback for it?

About PloneConf, yes, we'll be there and there I will tell you more about eea.daviz: http://www.ploneconf.org/the-event/talks/conference-talks/data-visualization-in-plone ;)

Also, my colleague David will talk about some other powerful eea. packages: http://www.ploneconf.org/the-event/talks/conference-talks/empowered-widgets-and-portal-searches-with-eea.-packages

Cheers,
Alin

Alin,

Yes, I remember doing the same for faceted navigation. Unfortunately, performing the saves have no affect, the behavior is unchanged.

On a completely separate topic, will you attend the upcoming Plone conference in Arnhem.

Cheers,

Michael

It seems to be a javascript error out there.
Please regenerate javascripts in ZMI > portal_javascripts > manage_jsForm click on Save button.
Same for CSS: ZMI > portal_css > manage_cssForm click on Save button
