Hi,
I am prototyping a Daviz map view of data that comes from a Sesame triple store via SPARQL. So far everything is fine, I am very encouraged and impressed with Daviz.
My question is:
Can anyone tell me what the "argument" and "arguments for preview" fields are for, and how to use them when defining a SPARQL data source? It looks like it might enable some sort of run-time parameter to be exposed via the interface? I can't find its function mentioned in the documentation or tutorial videos.
Any assistance gratefully appreciated!
Peter.

Hi Peter,

Glad to hear you find daviz useful.

Regarding your question about sparql argument.
Although the sparlq method accepts arguments, theses are sti not fully implemented. For example the json/tsv exports are not properly reflecting the argumenta therefor daviz cannot take full use of the undelying arguments feature yet.

We have a ticket in the queue to expose the arguments functionality into for example daviz filters, passed to the sparql and dynamically updated the visualisation..

Extract from the ticket
" ...When values for the arguments are used and query is executed the export method provided by eea.sparql (HTML, JSON etc) don't take into account the parameters. This will be fixed...."

http://taskman.eionet.europa.eu/issues/19537

So this is something that will definitely appear in daviz features.

Regards
Antonio
