but do update me on point allocation etc. If I am attending the meeting, then I should be able to represent the team properly.

By the way I have no clue of how the pointer system works okay. Probably thats why I am perhaps still a 5pointer in EE.101 :P
So can you please put down the exact rules?

hahahahah
Not the duration!! :P
Minutes mean, the summary of the discussion. Whenever any official meeting is held, one person generally notes down all the things that were discussed and then notes are made, on the reasoning why something was done or not, what are the action items now(implies what actions to be taken) etc.

So I just want to know the final conclusions on what are the points associated with each submissions, lecture notes etc etc. Of course the reasons why they are so is not important.

Minutes of the last meeting are listed below. For better font, you can visit www.www.jinga-lala-huha-huha.com

The main purpose of the meeting on Friday, 23.9.2011 was to discuss the administrative aspect
of the tutorial component of the course - to explain the purpose and format
of the tutorial activities. The following Sections 1, 2 comprise Minutes of the Meeting. Sections 3 and 4 (in bold italics) below are additional directives from the Instructor. Refer to the course Moodle Page if the font is not clearly visible in your email.

1. Industrial Enterprise Competition:

Each team has to form groups within it, each group consisting of a maximum
of 3 members: thus one, two or three members. Each group has to choose an
appliance, electrical or electronic product or any real life application
of the concepts that we are learning or electromagnetic/ electronic
concepts in general. This would give us an additional insight into the
subject, as Electrical Engineering/ Electronics is best learnt by looking
at its applications in everyday life.

Each group will study the working details of their products, particularly
from the point of view of Electrical Engineering/ Electronics/
Electromagnetics. Students are not expected to understand every minute detail.
eg. You do not have to explain in detail how a chip works. A broad
appreciation of the application and the ideas going into it, will suffice.
Each group will have to prepare a presentation which must include some
details of how the application/ product works technically, how it is
manufactured and any other relevant engineering/technological details. The
team co-ordinators should take care, that there is diversity in the
products manufactured by groups in the same team. Overlaps up to a
reasonable extent are permissible across teams. Team Coordinators shall inform the Teaching Associates of Groups and Products/
Topics of Study by Monday, 3 October 2011.

Evaluation:

All the groups will give their presentations towards the end of the
course. The evaluation would be in two phases. The first phase includes
presentation and evaluation in the tutorial sessions. Presentation of each
group will be critically reviewed by the opposite team (other team sitting in
the same class room). eg. All groups of Team 6 will be reviewed by team 5
and team 5 can ask questions pertaining to the presentations made by the
groups of team 6. Team 5 will then do a peer evaluation of all the groups
of team 6. Subsequently, Teams 5 and 6 shall switch roles in the remaining
half of the tutorial.

After the presentations made in the tutorials, 4 lectures at the end of
the course will be devoted for presentation in the class (LCH 31). This is
the second phase of the evaluation. Each lecture would accommodate
presentations by two teams. Each team would get around 20 minutes. Each
team would probably have 8-9 products. The team should pick 4 or maximum 5 products
out of these products that they have. They should give a combined
presentation comprising of these 4/5 products in the stipulated 20
minutes. The team must identify who all, from among them would make the
presentation.

The rest of the teams would carry out the peer evaluation of the team
making the presentation. eg. At the time of presentation of team 1 in the
lecture, all other teams (teams 2-team 8 in this case) would do the peer
evaluation.

Important points:

1.1. The Instructor is NOT expecting that the product is actually built or
manufactured - though a team is welcome, if it so wishes to use some
actual exhibition of components/ systems. No expectation of that kind by
the Instructor/ TAs.

1.2. The weightage for this competition would be 20 marks (10% weight).

1.3. Although the competition follows peer evaluation, it would be
moderated by the Instructor and the Teaching Associates, who would have
the final say in evaluation.

2. Tutorial Point system:

The point system of the 'Electronnis game' ensures that every individual
is participating in the regular Tutorial activities. It also gives every
student a chance to earn some marks by work spread over the semester.
Percentage Weight for this component: 30 marks (15 percent weight).

Points would be converted into marks for this 15 percent. There would be a
threshold defined by the Instructor and TAs, in consultation with all team
coordinators if required, above which all the students would get 30 marks.
Below that, there would be slabs of points defining the equivalent marks
of that range of points. The tutorial points would be carefully maintained by the Team Coordinators
and the Teaching Associates.
Hence, the tutorial activities together account for 50 marks (25% weight). 3.
"Additional Effort' / Academic-Administrative Participation Points
Over and above the 50 marks for Tutorials, the Instructor would himself, maintain the 'Coordinator Points ' (10 to each coordinator who does the job properly) and the Challenging Problem/ Additional Effort Points (upto 4 points for each reasonable attempt). These would be used to award marks out of 10 (5 percent weight)

4. Attendance Points:
The Instructor would, henceforth take attendance 5 times in the lectures
randomly and award 2 marks to each student present. The attendance will be
sometimes for Computer Science and Engg, sometimes for Chemical Engg.
This accounts for 10 marks (5 percent weight).
