Hello folks,

Our first full calendar year as Earth Engine India users community is drawing to a close and we wanted to take a quick look back at the year gone by, share some thoughts and look ahead.

It has been a great year of learning, sharing and interacting with each other over interesting topics around Earth Engine, and we deeply appreciate your goodwill and participation for making this possible. The Earth Engine India Advanced Summit in Bangalore in March this year was fabulous, filled with learning, community-led trainings, brainstorming and forging of new connections for those of us who could attend it.

Some of us got to take part in the first edition of Summer of Earth Engine, tackle questions pertaining to real-world issues in professional settings in established non-profits and build new collaborations. The EE Student Summit at IIT Bombay saw students lead trainings on Earth Engine for the first time as they hacked on coding challenges pertaining to real-world on-ground issues.

We also had our monthly live webinar series wherein several of you pitched in your time and shared your experience & expertise on your work on Earth Engine, and created a valuable learning resource which can be found as recorded videos on our Youtube channel. Folks at Google's Earth Outreach team, Devaja, Ujaval, and Allie in particular, have been at the heart of it all, facilitating these community efforts and we are grateful for their unwavering support.

As we look ahead into the next year, we look forward to more opportunities to interact and learn in-person and online, building on past collaborations and making new ones.

We'd like to share with all of you that the monthly live webinar series will be discontinued from now on, but we look to continuing online interactions as a community in our google group forum.

As always, we welcome ideas from all of you, any of you, and are eager to hear about new ways we could support each other in the work we do.

Happy new year to each of you,
Your friendly EE India Users community organizers
