I would like to enable the Open edx-search! I have run the following code:

- sudo -H -u edxapp bash
- source /edx/app/edxapp/edxapp/edxapp_env
- cd /edx/app/edxapp/edx-platform
- pip install -r requirements/edx/github.txt
- pip install -e ./

I noticed that the edx-search code is include into the folder:
/edx/app/edxapp/edx-platform/src/edx-search

I would like to ask you how to enable that code to see the edx-search on my Open edX version??

Thanks in advanced!

Hi Andy,
Just posted a query on edx Operations and came across this reply of yours. So I have a query relating to edx-search on Cypress release.

In our production setup, we need to have LMS server and elasticsearch running on separate machines. Is it possible to point LMS to a remote elasticsearch?

In Dogwood, there is configuration called ELASTIC_SEARCH_CONFIG in lms.env.json for precisely this purpose but there is no such setting in Cypress and elasticsearch host name is hard-coded to localhost(and port 9200). Is this fixed in any release of Cypress?

We are not ready for Dogwood and are hoping to move atleast to Cypress and course search seems like such a useful feature to have! So really hoping that there is a way.

Thanks!
Aparna
