Hi,
As those of you following the Open edX blog might already know, we are preparing the launch of a self-hosting service for Open edX (aka OpenCraft.Hosting). There are some details in the blog post that has just been posted there:
I would be curious to get feedback on this - this is something that seem to be currently missing, and important to make setting up Open edX more accessible to course teams. What do you think? Would you use something like this to host your instance? What would you need the hosting service to provide to make it useful for you?
And if you have questions, don't hesitate, happy to answer them.
NB: And if you are really curious, know that this is developed in the open, as a free software project:
https://github.com/open-craft/opencraft . We have been using it internally to automatically provision our sandboxes in upstream PRs on edx/edx-platform for almost a year now, so some of you might even already used instances provisioned by the project
