About Edx-Theming

Hello, I am applying theme to edx LMS. I have applied Logo and footer page. But i tried a lot to change the default background image and course look that is displayed on LMS page could not change. Please let me know how can i change that? I have created  a theme directory under edx/app/edxapp/edx-platform directory. Also can you tell me where can i found the default theme directory in system.
